The Oscars Is Trying To Assemble The AVENGERS - Birth.Movies.Death.

The ones who are still alive, presumably.

With Kevin Hart officially out of the running to host this year's Oscars (and with the Academy flat-out refusing to take our advice on who should actually host the ceremony), it sounds like this year's telecast will instead involve multiple celebrity presenters popping up onstage to introduce segments, tell a few jokes, and take part in (full body shudder) Academy-approved skits.

But, hey - if what The Hollywood Reporter's saying is true, it might also feature the Avengers: As THR goes on to point out, this wouldn't be the first time the MCU family's been brought together for an Oscars appearance: back in 2013, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson all appeared onstage together.

A pretty good showing, to be sure, but one which could clearly be improved upon five years later, given that a sizable portion of Hollywood's working actors and actresses are now members of the Marvel family (also worth noting: the Oscars air on ABC, which is owned by Disney; at the end of the day this'd just be good #CorporateSynergy).
